Doug Weathers

A graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law in Tuscaloosa Alabama Mr. Weathers was admitted to the Alabama Bar in May 1989. His legal experience has spanned several disciplines in criminal law family law estate litigation intellectual property and as a general practitioner. However since graduating from law school he has practiced primarily in Criminal Law as an Assistant District Attorney for six years and as a defense attorney for ten years. Mr. Weathers has tried in excess of 110 felony jury trials and many misdemeanor and juvenile trials. Serving as a prosecutor Mr. Weathers worked tirelessly to protect victims of crime and punish the offender. He received advanced training as a prosecutor at Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago Illinois and at the National Advocacy Center Columbia South Carolina. Following his service as a prosecutor Mr. Weathers went into private practice and devoted himself to the effective representation of citizens accused of criminal offenses and general practice. He has taught at the college level classes in Criminal Law and Procedure Evidence and Civil Procedure. Most recently Mr. Weathers was the supervising trial attorney for a large Fort Worth criminal defense firm. His duties included supervising five attorneys and managing the firm's trials in all felony and misdemeanor courts in Tarrant Dallas Johnson Parker Denton and Wise Counties. Mr. Weathers currently limits his practice solely to criminal defense matters.
